Sizing cylinders are used in the agri-food industry to divide cereals according to their thickness.

When the product is fed into the cylinder it is accurately sized as a result of the rotating movement of the cylinder and specially arranged internal fins which ensure that it is continuously mixed.
A series of different sized perforated grids grade the product by dividing it into two qualities:
1) good product
2) reject

Once the product has been discharged from the sizing grid, it is sent to a diversion valve. From here the user can choose to send it to one of two line conveyors (screw feeder or oscillating channel), one for the reject product and the other for the good product.
